Nora has a cookie tin that holds a tiny kitchen, a habit of building small rooms, and a lot of practice at being new.She does not expect the pantry to have another door.Behind it is Lantern Passage, a tiled hallway where doors open onto homes in other countries. A boy named Mateo brings a package through from Mexico City. A girl named Bea counts hinge springs behind frosted glass. And Mrs. Voss, from next door, has a spare key and a great deal of explaining to do.But not every door on the passage is as bright as it should be. Some windows have stopped showing anything at all, and nobody wants to say why.Nora, who knew her last neighbor’s alarm better than her last neighbor, is about to find out how many neighbors she really has.

ABOUT THE AUTHORL.K. Marlowe grew up on the beaches of South Florida. She has lived and traveled all over the world, but Chicago remains one of her favorite places to call home. With family roots in Europe and a soft spot for old European architecture, it’s no surprise that Paris, Rome, and Germany’s Rhineland are among her favorites. An audiophile and lover of languages and music, she’s currently learning French because she loves the way it sounds. She has loved writing since childhood, and The Commonhouse is her first series. L.K. is a hopeful skeptic who believes we all belong to one tribe. She hopes you get lost in the story and enjoy the adventure!
